Community Cooking Workshops
We believe that everyone should have access to good healthy food, which is why our Community Cooking projects aim to help disadvantaged children and adults develop the skills and confidence they need to be able to cook from scratch
Through hands-on cooking workshops, participants gain essential life skills, access to nutritious meals, and the confidence to cook from scratch. These workshops provide a safe, fun, and sociable environment where attendees come together to prepare simple, budget-friendly, and eco-friendly meals.
Workshops cover topics such as:
- Healthy eating and sustainable nutrition
- Batch cooking and reducing food waste
- Understanding food labelling
- Growing food at home
Tell me & I will forget, show me & I may remember, involve me & I will understand.

Sustainable Nutrition:
Our Ethos
We believe in sustainable nutrition—helping people cook from scratch with no hidden nasties, giving them full control over their food. This approach reduces packaging and food waste while supporting the environment through seasonal, local sourcing and smarter choices like using frozen or dried herbs to minimise waste.
We focus on flexible eating habits centred around high fibre, fruits, and vegetables, with little to no red meat.
Our workshops go beyond cooking, offering a safe, sociable space to learn about healthy eating, share meals, and experience the powerful impact of community on wellbeing.

Curious to know how to run your
own community cooking event?
We’d love to see more people host community cooking workshops, providing those from low-income families with the knowledge to prepare quick, easy, and affordable meals at home. By equipping individuals with these practical skills, we can empower communities to make healthier choices, reduce food insecurity, and create lasting positive change. Together, we can make nutritious home-cooked meals accessible to all.

Our Environment
At Munch, we take pride in doing our part to protect the environment and contribute to a more sustainable future. Every choice we make is guided by a deep commitment to reducing our impact on the planet. From sourcing fresh, local ingredients to minimising waste wherever possible, we strive to operate in ways that respect and care for the world around us.
We believe that creating a healthier planet starts with small, meaningful actions, and we’re passionate about making those changes today for the benefit of future generations. Whether it’s through eco-friendly practices or supporting local suppliers, everything we do reflects our dedication to preserving the environment and inspiring others to do the same.
Last year we helped 572 adults, children, and young people adopt a more plant based approach to cooking.

Giving Back
As a social enterprise, all profits from our catering services support our Community Cooking programmes. These inclusive workshops, offered both online and in person, empower families, young adults, and individuals with learning disabilities to cook from scratch. We aim to build healthier relationships with food, improve financial resilience, and reduce waste for stronger, sustainable communities.
