Kayleigh dalton

Discover how Grub Club helped Kayleigh and her three children embrace healthier eating habits, try new foods, and build confidence in cooking from scratch. From improving their diet to forming meaningful community connections, Jessica shares how Grub Club has transformed mealtimes and strengthened her family’s bond.

Confidence
in Cooking

Before joining Grub Club, Kayleigh often avoided cooking with her kids due to feeling overwhelmed. However, the workshops have given her the confidence to relax and enjoy the process.

She shares, “Grub Club has helped me so much. I tend to get very overwhelmed by situations. Grub Club has helped me feel less overwhelmed by cooking – and less overwhelmed by situations in general.”

Kayleigh’s newfound confidence has also transformed her children’s relationship with food. Her son Leo, who once had a restricted diet and was under a dietician’s care, now tries a wide variety of foods and is enthusiastic about food preparation.

“We have made lots of new friends and become more friendly with people that we knew before. We love the community atmosphere in the room, and how everyone chats together and helps each other.”

Positive
Food Changes

Kayleigh notes a significant shift in how her children approach food, saying,

“The way that they talk about food that they don’t like has changed. They will try things and then politely say that they don’t want it rather than refusing point blank to eat it. The children try way more foods now.”

Grub Club has also inspired Kayleigh’s family to embrace healthier meals. She shares,
“We’ll try anything now – seeds, pulses, beans – mixed herbs go in everything! And we make homemade pizza all the time.”

“We love Grub Club. We will always be there! I would love to learn more about sustainable nutrition – beans, pulses, etc. and hiding nuts and seeds in sauces.”

Sustainability & Practical Skills

Kayleigh has developed valuable skills in reducing food waste and creatively using leftovers, a practice she previously avoided. Now, all leftover food is put to good use, either stored in the fridge or freezer, helping her family minimise waste and make the most of their meals.

The recipes provided by Grub Club have become a reliable resource for Kayleigh, giving her greater confidence in meal planning and preparation. They allow her to approach cooking with flexibility, using what she already has at home to create delicious and nutritious meals for her family.
